The Tide:
Summer camp 1

We are moving towards live action, but we are not a “theatre camp”. We don't believe in acting, directing or artistic talent, we believe in interest, in enthusiastic exploration, in a willingness to break out of our own ruts.

Suburban camp takes place from 28.7-1.8. every day from 10:00-17:00. Age group 12-16 years.

A theatrical production, performance or happening can come about through shoes with too-high heels, a butterfly perching on the bush next to you, a stick on a forest path, a beautiful sounding railing, or just a willingness to experience something together. Over the course of five days, we will walk together through a series of art, craft and performance workshops, culminating in an event open to the public.

We are interested in ingenious work with materials. Instead of a melt gun, we'd rather pick up a drill. We look for surprising uses of existing things, we listen to their stories. We also listen to each other and to the voices inside us that we don't normally hear. We take a break from the normal, but we don't close our eyes to the world around us.

Questions:

  1. What is your relationship to Prague?
  2. What is the surroundings of ARCHY+ like?
  3. What impulses does the city flora give us?

Terka is a tribal set designer, musician and occasional performer for Musashi Entertainment Company. She graduated from KALD DAMU and studied Garden and Landscape Architecture at MENDELU in Brno. She is easily passionate about something, whether it's making blocks by hand, making a sponge out of a hoofed tussock or learning a new musical instrument. She would like to have a cool girl band. She has designed sets and puppets/objects for the Radost Theatre, Naive Theatre, Little Theatre in České Budějovice and Studio Rote. She also creates sets and puppets for independent companies, for example for the production Five Times Around the World of Tiger in Distress. Apart from theatre, he is also involved in handpoke tattooing, garden architecture and kart racing. She is a rock climber and the inventor of the wattophone, a musical instrument that doesn't make sounds, but makes a parade. She has been a lecturer at the Rudolfinum Gallery for many years, and occasionally creates workshops under the auspices of the Musashi Entertainment Company.

Anna mainly works in illustration, graphic design and pedagogy, occasionally also in theatre. She studied stage design at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU, where she found that she was quite tired of sitting in the theatre. Currently, she continues her studies at the Illustration and Graphic Design Studio at UMPRUM, where she can just sit at home and draw. She also attended the School of Imagination II under the direction of the Institute of Anxiety, she didn't sit there as much. Her work is currently focused on original books, which she self-publishes in small editions. Mostly in them she documents uninteresting events in her life. Occasionally she creates an introverted intimate production (Seven Needles) or a secret guerrilla action. As a set designer, she has collaborated with director En Ping Yu or Puppets in the Hospital. She also considers her work as an educator to be a full part of her work. She enjoys creating workshops in public spaces and/or workshops focused on listening. As a lecturer she has worked with the Rudolfinum Gallery, the Vila Pellé Gallery and the Journey to the Springs project, and she also creates tailor-made workshops for small cultural festivals.
