Tamino
Belgian Jeff Buckley, owner of an exceptional voice and grandson of the famous singer Moharam Fouad. These are just a few of the many adjectives the young singer from Belgium has earned in his relatively short career. It is his unique voice and the ways in which he uses it to tell passionate stories, create sound and share an artistic vision that crosses cultural boundaries and continents, that put him at the top of the Studio Brussels music talent competition in 2017. His music combines elements of Arabic music with modern indie rock and folk, and the influence of Nick Cave, John Lennon, Radiohead and Leonard Cohen is certainly not denied in his discography.
Just as Tamino acknowledges the influences of his favourite artists on his music, he is now influencing fans around the world. After a completely sold-out series of concerts for the release of his latest album to thousands of audiences abroad, Tamino is now preparing for his biggest European tour to date, during which he will not miss Prague. He has already visited here in 2019 and his concert full of electrifying energy at Café V lese is still remembered by fans years later. Whoever falls under Tamino's spell will never tire of the specifically strong bond between the young artist and his melancholy music. Now the likeable musician is about to present his new album Every Dawn's a Mountain, which will be released on 21 March 2025.
Most of the songs were written in Tamin's New York apartment, some were written in hotel rooms during his tour with Mitski, others were created in a church in New Orleans or in a studio in Brussels. From the result, however, Tamino promises the most harmonious musical collection of ten songs he has ever made. Like previous albums, it is laced with respect for the past and forgiveness. Every Dawn's a Mountain was produced with his longtime collaborator PJ Maertens, with co-production from Eric Heigle (Arcade Fire, Dawn Richard) and Alessandro Buccellati (Arlo Parks, SZA).
