Král*ovna (God Save the Drama Queen)
In 1587, the feud between the two queens culminated in the execution of Mary Stuart. Her cousin, Elizabeth I, had no other choice. Executing her rival meant saving her own neck and her hold on power.
Who are Elizabeth and Mary today? *Queen uses the tragic story of these two monarchs as a starting point for a discussion about women in power. It asks what a woman must endure, not only to attain power, but also to retain it. It tells a story of rivalry, but also of hidden kinship. It addresses objectification and systemic pressure, transporting the audience into an absurd electoral game show.
Queen is an original production that combines theatrical improvisation with other theatrical forms, giving the audience the opportunity to participate in the action, share their own opinions, and influence the final form of the production.
