Debate for puppets

This project—now an artistic collective—originated at DAMU, and since 2024 we have been presenting it at the ARCHA+ cultural space. It is an unconventional discussion format in which the participants do not know each other’s identities, just as the audience does not know the participants’ identities. Each guest is assigned an avatar or alter ego—a puppet that performs in their place.

The creators are interested in how a person’s awareness of who they are speaking with influences their communication—whether based on what they say, how they behave, or even what they look like. This opens up space for discussion free of prejudice and with greater openness. Students will have the opportunity to listen and later ask questions themselves. The debate is followed by an interactive workshop that actively engages students in the topic and gives them the chance to
explore it in greater depth.

Each “Debate for Puppets” addresses a current social issue that resonates (not only) with the younger generation.
